The leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) LK Advani saw Peepli Live recently and he was all praises for it. Though the movie's certain aspects was for him pretty distressing, the veteran political leader said that it was definitely a refreshing movie to watch, and the incident of the farmers' suicide has been taken to a level which he described as pretty shocking and quite worrying. Advani also praised Aamir Khan's movie for being a very realistic film with a very detailed depiction of typical village life.

Advani admitted that he had talked to Aamir Khan about the farmers' suicide. He has visited villages in Andhra Pradesh and such areas and there this is a common occurrence. He also said that the issue might be quite distressing for the families of such people who have committed suicide over the years. Advani also said that he had wanted Aamir to change the theme into something else, and make the movie about a different topic and put a different angle to it.

Directed by Anusha Rizvi, the film Peepli Live is currently playing in theaters and has already become a big hit, drawing in unbelievable revenues.
