Though the original one did not do too well at the box office, it is still known as one of the best movies of its time, and it became a major movie known for its powerful dialogues and fabulous acting from Amitabh Bachchan and Mithun Chakrabarty. The original film was made by Yash Johar, and his son Karan Johar has decided to make the remake of the movie because it had an awesome script, great story and a script which has been revamped and edited.

Currently Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan are promoting the movie to different cities, and recently they were caught in a meet at PVR cinemas in Ambience Mall where the actors talked about the film and their experience. Hrithik said that he was pretty scared about doing a role which has been noted as one of the most celebrated roles of all time, that of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, and he took a considerable amount of time before he said yes to it. However he decided to do the film once he heard the script of it, and realized that it was a totally different way the story was told. Sanjay Dutt on the other hand said that he was comfortable sharing screen space with Hrithik.
