There are times where films become a tale of revenge, romance and powerful emotions shake us to the core. Agneepath, the remake of the classic which shot to fame with the dialogue-oriented powerful star cast is a tale which sadly lacks the gripping power that otherwise could have had so much flair and power to it that would have boggled the mind.
However, Agneepath lacks a few things, the most important being a script where we fail to sympathize with the hero for his share of misdeeds in the long list of crime that involves the audience, and the revenge plot is so gory and bloody, not to mention somewhat not too well-justified, that we might not be able to understand the logic behind most of it. Also, the film consists of a villain who laughs, acts in a frightening manner, and manages to make himself into a larger than life character that does not really make you hate him much. That said, watch out for Hrithik. A sincere actor, in Agneepath, Hrithik blows the mind with his powerful performance, and only Rishi Kapoor comes close to him with his perfect role as Rauf Lala. Priyanka Chopra looks and acts well, and her role is meaty. On the other hand, the climax is dragged slightly and makes you a bit bored with all the doom and gloom.
