With the concept of The Full Monty behind it, Desi Boyz is a somewhat breezy adaptation of the film with a concept which to say the very least is not meant for a young generation. There are far too many raised eyebrows at a concept which is still faintly foreign to India, and male escorts are not yet that popular. However, Rohit Dhawan has proved to be a much more promising director than father David Dhawan, whose last movie Rascals was the proof of all kinds of monstrous nonsense which never made us laugh out loud like this film does in places. Akshay and John has got great chemistry between them, certainly more than what can be seen between John and Deepika Padukone, who looks lovely but unfortunately cannot act to save her life. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar and Chitrangada Singh has got a fantastic chemistry going on which makes the two a great one to watch onscreen. You would also adore Sanjay Dutt who is a showstopper in his small role, and the music by Pritam adds to the film in a lot of ways. Though the script loses focus a lot, and the story ends up on the sap zone, the film overall gets away with it for its fast screenplay and good acting.
