One of the defining movies of the year, The Dirty Picture not just presents, it delivers a story which is not just evocating but also provoking. And in that, Vidya Balan is the epitome of sex in this movie, and it is her film. Milan Luthria has cleverly used her character to display the 80's, a time which we have loved and hated, with its mock-'sharaafat' and hypocrisy that went on. To this, Vidya plays her role of 'Silk' to the best of her ability and in this, she has a strong contender in Emraan Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Rajesh Sharma, four men who make huge impressions in his life. The story would be a mystery, but it is true that the character development of Vidya has been done in graphic details, and her role as a grasping, stubborn and strong heroine who can do anything to get what she wants is memorable. Vidya displays the reason why she is considered to be one of Bollywood's best actresses, and in this movie, she has achieved a level of perfection which is indeed commendable. The music by Vishal Shekhar plays a big role, and the song for the credit role, 'Nakka Mukka', will stay with you even after the film's over.
