The Box office analysis of the film We are Family is not too great it seems. Though there is a lot of Karan Johar magic to it, the film has failed to go beyond an average opening. Despite the movie being the second Kajol movie of the year, with Arjun Rampal riding a high from Raajneeti the film still did not make any huge impression at the box.

From the paid previews of the movie the film made a huge collection of a sum of about Rupees 2.7 Crores which is indeed a huge amount. However, the opening weekend collection was a sum of Rupees 14.2 Crores which did not match up to previous hits like Peepli Live or Raajneeti, that made way over 15 Crores in the Box in their opening weekend.

Despite the film's positive reviews and power packed performances from both Kajol and Kareena, apparently the chemistry between the two characters failed to raise any temperature in the audience who thought the movie was a bit of a tearjerker and was best to avoid. As a result, the opening weekend and subsequent weekday collection of the movie till this point has not been much of a success.
