What went well with Prithviraj in the helm failed sadly with Asif Ali. The film Asuravithu had a lot of potentials but sadly there was a lot of things going wrong with it as well. however, while Prithviraj had the wonderful screen presence as the horrible villain of Stop Violence, playing the role of his son proved too much for Asif Ali. The problem is Asif Ali himself. Firstly his screen presence is not exactly very fearful. Unfortunately enough he has neither got the ability to get into the skin of his character, nor does he play the role of an arch villain too well. Both score negative marks for him and we are somehow sadly reminded of quite a few misplaced heroes of our times.
The other thing is the ridiculous nature of a plot. For example, the hero wants to become a priest, but thanks to some events become a villain. This weird transition from being a man of God to a man of Devil is not just silly but also laughable in a serious plot. Samvrutha adds little to the game, and the props and gimmicks used to steer the plot forward seem silly and weird. Overall quite a ridiculous watch.
