Movie Review Casanovva

What we expect every time out of Mohanlal is something that would blow us out of our minds, and with the long making period and the promise of multiple heroines for the star, we expected fireworks. However, when you see a film like Casanovva, which has been made with no expense spared, after a while you would wonder why the filmmaker did not spend the money on a sensible script rather than making a really weak one which does not do justice to the extremely rich sets and frames that can make you believe for a while about the abundance of cash floating around the film.

However, Shriya Saran, Roma, Sanjana and Lakshmi Rai has nothing much to work with. Seen as pretty faces, there is no sizzle for them, despite the huge expanse of skin shown over and over again. Shriya has and on-screen romance with Mohanlal but he fails to make the love look real as the chemistry between the two could not be felt at all. Another problem is the script which is filled with holes, especially when cops in the film even fail to pick up clues that stares into their face. Overall, the movie does have its moments, but it is mostly boring and predictable.
