What was one of the finest films of the year 2005, Udayananu Thaaram, has got a fine sequel this year. Padmashree Bharat Dr. Saroj Kumar however fails to make an impression on the minds of the audience. With silly lines, weird gags and comedy which seems forced and not natural, you would not be laughing through this film, you would rather want to know when the film ends.

Firstly you would see a bunch of returning characters from Udayananu Thaaram. However, they lack the persona of the previous film; instead they are overblown, hyped and irritating mostly. The problem is, the film lacks good actors who can carry off the skits and the digs the plot suggests successfully and everything looks quite forced. For example, there are IT raids in the houses of superstars, quite similar in nature to the ones recently happening around Mollywood, but it lacks the fun and the real kick to it. References are made to films being remade, and constant bans and shutting down of theaters, but the lack is there in a very comprehensive way which sort of irritates and leaves the audience cold. Overall this movie is just about okay to watch.
