The results are out from the first few days' collection of the two Pongal release, Nanban and Vettai, and it looks like both the films has done quite well in the festive season. With the films releasing on so many numbers of screens it was a tough competition, and though Nanban got a head start of a couple of days, it was a very tough game.

The box office of Chennai showed a great success for Nanban because it has already made over 3 crores in the first few days of opening. The film released successfully and had major openings all around Chennai, and it got a head start and netted in a magnifiscent 2.27 crores within the first four days of its release.

On the other hand, Vettai has done quite well too! The film bagged an impressive 95% of the opening when released and the strong storyline and great stunts has led it to bag around 2 Crores in revenue as well. The box office did very well for the Pongal release for both movies, and though they ate up most of the space, Mahesh Babu's The Businessman also made a great opening in the small number of screens allotted to it.
