Fans of Dhanush, watch out! This movie is the embodiment of the performance ability of the actor and encases his work as a piece of art, making the 2 hour 25 minutes movie time pass like a flash. The story is of a freelance photographer, whose life, expectations and love comprises the movie, from being a struggling photographer, to a guilty friend who is cheating, to a very insecure and alcoholic husband, spiraling down the path of self-destruction, to becoming a man who finally goes beyond his own histrionics and accepts himself in the end. Perhaps the most impressive thing about the film is Dhanush, who has been backed by a script which has been tailor made for him.

Selvaraghavan has made a fabulous movie in Mayakkam Enna, and the cast has been aptly chosen to make sure every characterization is flawless. New heroine Richa is fabulous in her role, and a perfect foil for the lead actor. Perfect editing and great cinematography is another two major bonus in the film, complimented perfectly by GV Prakash's music which is a series of notes that string the film together. Overall, a mature and extremely well-penned story executed to perfection.
