The second daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, Soundarya got married to Ashwin finally. A businessman from Chennai, the man was quite happy to get married in style and the wedding was a grand event which was held at the prestigious Rani Myyammai Hall, near Anna Salai, which is located in Chennai. For the event, Soundarya wore a beautiful red sari and she got married in typical South Indian Brahmin style, with the groom looking all flushed and happy and the bride a perfect match to him.

The event was attended by a series of film industry and political persona who graced the event with their presence. Special among them was Kamal Hassan, Abhishek Bachhan and Aishwarya Rai Bachhan, Chirajeevi, Sridevi, Mani Ratnam and his wife Suhasini, Venkatesh, Sriya Reddy and several political leaders including Karthi Chidambaram. Also present were the lyricist Vairamuthu, director Bala and KS Ravikumar, Sriya Reddy, Poornima, Sivakumar, Ambareesh, Sarath Kumar and Padma Subramaniam.

The event went smoothly and a lot of famous faces were noted who were there to wish the newlywed couple good luck. Rajini and wife Latha looked slightly upset when it was time to give their daughter away, but it is all in the sentiments, we guessed.
