It seems that on the 14th of January 2012, there would be an epic clash between Vijay and Madhavan, as Nanban and Vettai has both confirmed that they would be releasing on the Pongal of this year.

While Hrithik Roshan's Agneepath has rescheduled its releasing date from 13th January to the 26th of January for better impact, it looks like the two film Nanban and Vettai, both big budget and has got top stars in it, would be releasing together. Vijay has been joined by Jiiva and Ileana in the movie, that has been directed by Shankar, whose previous film was Enthiran, which was a major hit of Rajinikanth in 2010, and it seems that the movie is scheduled to be released on Pongal. The movie's music has already been launched and it has been applauded for its old world charm created by Harris Jayaraj.

On the other hand, Vettai is a story of two brothers, the older one being a police cop married to Sameera Reddy, while the younger brother is a carefree fun loving man played by Arya who is in love with a young girl played by Amala Paul. We will see which film succeeds out of the two this Pongal.
