It looks like Madrasapattinam would be director Vijay's grand release this year. The film is a period piece based on a 1940s incident which is directly pertinent to the freedom movement. The film at the moment is getting great responses from the audience who love the promos and would be checking out the cinemas for the film. However, Vijay has not stopped it seems. He has continued work, and has begun work in two different movies.

One film that he is making is a film for Bollywood. The young director would be working as a script writer for a while for this film. The script would be cast on either of the Bollywood heartthrob of the moment, who are Imran Khan or Ranbir Kapoor, it seems. The film would be based loosely on Dil Chahta Hai and there is a lot of young confusion included in the film.

Also, Vijay has been working on a script that would eventually translate into editor Antony's directorial debut. The director said that this was yet another venture he felt was worth taking the risk for and it has been great going for him writing the script of the film.
