The dubbed version of Shankar's Nanban has been named Snehitudu and it was supposed to launch its music at Shilpakala Vedhika in the presence of Aamir Khan, the superstar who originally made 3 Idiots, which is the basis of Shankar's remake of the classic. He was scheduled to make an appearance to Hyderabad for the event. However, due to unfortunate events, Aamir Khan was unable to come to the event and the audience was disappointed by Aamir's no-show for the event. Although Aamir has come over to Hyderabad before, this time he simply could not attend the show.

However, the event was a complete star-studded one, with top Telugu actors attending it. The chief guest was Ram Charan Tej who unveiled the music of the film. However, the disappointment was lost slightly as other members of the original film, namely Rajkumar Hirani, Sharman Joshi and Vidhu Vinod Chopra were all present for the event. Also present was Resul Pookutty, Harris Jayaraj and Shankar. The stars who shined through included Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Ileana, Srikanth and Sathyaraj, who were all present to promote the film and the music. Shankar and Vijay were extremely charming to the audience and spoke warmly of the film.
