It seems that Kollywood has provided her the chance to shine, and she has grabbed it with all her might, and decided to do more of South Indiam films. That is the reason why when Varalaxmi got the chance to work in a Telugu movie, she eagerly decided to take the opportunity to display her artistic talents in every direction. Varalaxmi is still waiting for the release of her maiden venture Poda Podi, which promised to be out a long time back, but still has not made it to the box offices it seems. So she tried her hands on a few other Tamil films, but looks like her big break in Telugu movies is going to be opposite the famed Naga Chaitanya.

The new film would be directed by Radha Mohan who told the media that he was going to make a bi-lingual film and selected Varalaxmi accordingly. The movie has been named Gauravan, and it features Naga in the lead role. It is going to be a total mass entertainer and would feature Naga Chaitanya in the role of an action star. The film has been produced under the banner of Annapoorna Studios.
