Villain - Movie Review

First let us tell you that the film Villain really lacks a good plot. The hackneyed story of revenge has somewhat made it very clear that the film would have to be watched for other things, like performance and cinematography, and we suggest you do exactly that. Don?t look for a movie plot, because in the first half there is virtually no plot. The film progresses and picks up in the second half, where the film becomes a story of revenge in the lines of Roja.

But the one person to look out for is Vikram. What a performance! In one word, stunning. Vikram as Veera is brilliant, and he is absolutely perfect playing the role of the cop. But there is a certain woman who would match his acting talent, and that is Aishwarya Rai. She has outshone herself, and in this movie after Iruvar and Guru, Mani Ratnam once again proves that he can make her work to her level best.

Santosh Sivan is a genius with his cinematography, and the use of water has been made beautifully to merge with the soothing notes of the background music by AR Rahman who could have brushed up the re-recordings.
