A runner up in Miss Kerala 2008, Rima Kallingal made her film debut in 2008 with the film Ritu. She was also seen in the film Neelathaamara as Shaarathe Ammini and in Kerala CafÈ later that year. Her demand grew when she got the chance to act in films like Happy Husbands, Best of Luck and City of God. She has acted in films against top actors like Prithviraj, and has played central roles in films where Jayasurya and other actors were present. Her next ventures would include films like Raghupati Raghav Rajaram with Prithviraj.
