The legendary Bollywood actor had begun his film career with a small role in Saat Hindustani, and continued with early films as co-actor to names like Rajesh Khanna in movies like Anand, where his acting was acclaimed to be top class. However, his break came in with films like Zanjeer, followed by a barrage of successful movies like Sholay, Suhaag, Namak Haram, Namak Halal and such. Though the 1990s showed his decline, in 2000s he re-emerged and made a successful career again, after hosting popular TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
