Prithviraj and Mammootty seem to have done it together! With releases over 110 screens all over India, out of which 90 being in Kerala, the film has collected well over Rs 2 crore in a span of 1 week. The family entertainer has made box office history this time, and the opening week has seen a collection of about 2.21 crore rupees, which is definitely quite an amount. Kozhikode Apsara alone gave the film Rs 8.75 lakhs, and Kavita in Ernakulam doled out Rs 7.67 lakhs. The distributors love the fact that though the critics don?t think much of the film, the masses are going berserk over the film and love every moment of it. In fact, credit goes to both Prithviraj and Mammootty who has been able to work their magic together.

Mammootty and Prithviraj apparently has quite a fan following, and theater owners claim that one of the reasons why this is working is because of the two actors? fans rolling this film forward. The critics also claim that Prithviraj is the real hero of the film, who carries it forward. So far, Pokkiri Raja has become the biggest crowd puller this year.
